Crowdfunder success!

Article 39 is delighted that our crowdfunder to legally challenge painful and unjustified restraint of children escorted to/from secure children’s homes has been successful.

We raised over £10,000 days before our deadline!

Had our initial target of £8,000 not been reached by the morning of 27 July, we would have been unable to collect any pledges.

The number and range of concerned and committed individuals and organisations is incredibly motivating. With 190 pledges to date, it’s great to have so many backing us in our fight for the rights of vulnerable children.

We are especially grateful to those individuals and organisations who acted as Ambassadors for our fundraising, including:

  • British Association of Social Workers (BASW)
  • Children England
  • Martha Cover, Barrister and Co-Chair Association of Lawyers for Children
  • Dr Liz Davies, Emeritus Reader in Child Protection, London Metropolitan University
  • Dexter Dias QC, Barrister
  • Kathy Evans, CEO Children England
  • Pam Hibbert OBE
  • Professor Ray Jones, Kingston University and St George’s, University of London
  • John Kemmis, Patron of National Association of Independent Reviewing Officers
  • Liberty
  • Nushra Mansuri, Professional Officer, BASW
  • Dr Jenny Molloy, BASW England Patron
