Radical changes to children’s social care – threats explained

Article 39 has briefed Peers on the grave threats to children’s social care rights contained in the Children and Social Work Bill, which has Second Reading in the Lords on Tuesday 14 June. This is the start of its Parliamentary passage.

There has been no public consultation on the radical changes to children’s social care threatened by Clauses 15-19.

Given the enormity of the changes, and the risks they pose to children’s rights, we believe Clauses 15-19 must be removed from the Bill, pending a public consultation.
